Small Business Saturday

Hope everyone had a fabulous Thanksgiving! If you’re still in the mood to shop after Black Friday, why not shop local and swing by Mysterious Galaxy Redondo Beach’s popup shop on Small Business Saturday? It’s tomorrow 11/25 from 3pm – 5pm  at 2850 Artesia Blvd. in Redondo Beach and there will be treats, giveaways, and authors.

Even if you’re not in the mood to shop, no worries. Just say hello! I’ll be there along with four other authors reading and signing books. There will even be some signed first editions at 20 – 35% off. I’ll be selling copies of FINN and SUPERBEETLE.

Hope to see you there tomorrow!

Book Festival Season is Here

Here’s my blog post over at Writing Wranglers & Warriors in anticipation of my signing copies of FINN at the LA Times Festival of Books. It’s my favorite time of year and I couldn’t think of a better place to work all weekend!

Hope to see you there!

Sisters in Crime, #367 – Saturday, April 22 from 12pm – 1pm

Mysterious Galaxy, #368 – Sunday, April 23 from 12pm – 12:45pm

“CLEANING UP FINN is a sun-blurred, booze-soaked excursion”…what more could you want for summer reading?

Read praise for CLEANING UP FINN here:

From the Col’s Criminal Library:

“You feel like your sympathies shouldn’t really rest with our main man, but somehow in the hands of Sarah Chen, they do. Can Finn clean up his act, get out from under and find some measure of redemption? Or is he doomed to repeat the mistakes of his past?”

From Tom Leins’ DIRTY BOOKS:

“This debut novella from Sarah M. Chen is a sun-blurred, booze-soaked excursion into the grubby underbelly of a Californian beach town.”

From Derrick Horodyski of OUT OF THE GUTTER:

“I absolutely loved Cleaning Up Finn by Sarah M. Chen. I defy anyone who reads this tightly wound novella to find anything wrong with it. It has a classic noir main character, death, despair, and—best of all—a full-throttle plot that picks up more and more speed as the plot unfolds.”

FIRST FINN SIGNING TODAY AT MYSTERIOUS GALAXY

So today was the day…the first FINN signing and I lucked out with having it at my favorite bookstore, Mysterious Galaxy! OK, I kind of planned it that way. And I was able to share the limelight with awesome and talented fellow crime fiction author, S.W. Lauden. He maybe even managed to make me look not so freakishly weird and anxious because he’s cool like that.

It was a blast and even better…we sold books! If you want to order copies from an indie bookstore, call Mysterious Galaxy. They ship anywhere!

FIRST FINN SIGNING THIS SATURDAY!

My first FINN signing is this Memorial Day weekend at the best indie bookstore ever, Mysterious Galaxy San Diego! Come help me celebrate on Saturday, May 28 at 2pm.

I’ll be signing and discussing CLEANING UP FINN, published by All Due Respect Books along with awesomely-talented writer and friend, S.W. Lauden. He’ll be signing his novella CROSSWISE, released with Down & Out books.

We’ll talk about the novella in crime fiction, “surf noir” or “sunshine noir” stories, and why our covers look so badass (hint: we had the same graphic artist). And did I mention cupcakes?!
