FIRST FINN SIGNING THIS SATURDAY!

My first FINN signing is this Memorial Day weekend at the best indie bookstore ever, Mysterious Galaxy San Diego! Come help me celebrate on Saturday, May 28 at 2pm.

I’ll be signing and discussing CLEANING UP FINN, published by All Due Respect Books along with awesomely-talented writer and friend, S.W. Lauden. He’ll be signing his novella CROSSWISE, released with Down & Out books.

We’ll talk about the novella in crime fiction, “surf noir” or “sunshine noir” stories, and why our covers look so badass (hint: we had the same graphic artist). And did I mention cupcakes?!

LA TIMES FESTIVAL OF BOOKS POST WRAP-UP

What a fun weekend despite the rain on Saturday (and Basil computer breakdowns but that’s a different story entirely). It didn’t deter the book-loving crowds though! I had a blast hanging out with signing mates Lida Sideris, Tammy Kaehler, James Ziskin, and Nancy Cole Silverman at the Sisters in Crime booth. It was great to re-connect with old friends and meet new mystery lovers.

LA TIMES FESTIVAL OF BOOKS IS HERE!

Yay! My favorite time of year is here…the LA Times Festival of Books. And what makes it even better is that I’ll be signing tomorrow, Saturday, April 9 at the Sisters in Crime booth from 1-2pm.  That’s booth #367.  I’ll have copies of Betty Fedora, Issue #2 and Ladies Night on hand.

And yes, it might rain. Wah wah. But no worries, Sisters in Crime has hoodies for sale. 🙂 I’ll be giving away Cleaning Up Finn swag so be sure to stop on by!

HARLAN COBEN AND I – THEN AND NOW

If you need a break from the Easter egg hunting and gorging on honeybaked ham, check out my post today on Writing Wranglers & Warriors. I talk about stalking Harlan Coben – okay, not really, because is it stalking if there’s 8 years in between?

LEFT COAST CRIME WRAP-UP

I had a blast at Left Coast Crime in Phoenix. I got to catch up with people I haven’t seen in a while like Holly West and Brett Battles. I met talented writers like C.S. DeWildt, Lida Sedaris, Dale Berry, M.H. Callway, and Grant Goad.  I got to hang with writers that I’ve only met once or twice like Rob Pierce, Brian Thornton, and Josh Stallings. Overall, it was a fantastic time with plenty of opportunities to talk about writing, the future of publishing, short stories, and to read some killer flash fiction.

Noir on the Radio was one of the LCC highlights for me for sure. Special thanks to Michael Pool for hosting and I had a great time sharing the mic with S.W. Lauden, Josh Stallings, Brian Thornton, Rob Pierce, and  C.S. DeWildt.

NOIR ON THE RADIO FRIDAY NIGHT

Hey, everyone, I’ll be on the Authors on the Air again this Friday night Feb. 26 at 6pm (PST) with the talented C.S. Dewildt, Brian Thornton, S.W. Lauden, Rob Pierce, and Josh Stallings.  As usual, Michael Pool is our gracious host of Noir on the Radio. We’ll be reading some flash fiction and talking about the conference and whatever mishaps so far have happened (I’m sure there’ll be a few) so even if you’re not at Left Coast Crime, it’ll be like you’re there! So come check us out. There will be a link provided to hear us live. In case I forget to post it since I’ll be at the conference, click this link and hopefully there will be one for Noir on the Radio.

IT WAS A DARK AND STORMY 3 DAYS…

Noir at the Bar Seattle was a blast! I met so many talented and friendly writers like Brian Thornton, Michael Pool, Will Viharo, Frank Zafiro, Robert Dugoni, Jim Thomsen, Vince Keenan, and Eric Johnson. Of course, Danny Gardner is always great company and a fabulous reader. I’m glad I didn’t have to read after him. I’m forever grateful to Michael Pool for organizing such a fun event and hopefully I’ll be back next year when my novella CLEANING UP FINN (which I read an excerpt from) comes out! Cheers!
